iArt?

With young people practically glued to their cell phones, it's no wonder we've transitioned art and literature into the iAge (I just made that up). This week in class we're studying all the neat, artsy stuff you can to with technology. You can see a whole bunch of artwork done on iPhones here.
We also read an article about Japanese girls making novels on their smartphones. I love that literature has found it's way into the technology age. Although, I do prefer snuggling up with a real book on a rainy day. Hopefully in another couple of generations kids will still know what a book with paper is.

  1. I find it fun and interesting to be able to use technology to make art. One of the reasons I got rid of my cell phone is because I am vowing not to become socially unattached. I was just thinking about the future and how books will be used. I'm using 3-books for 2 of my classes this year and I have to copy and past all of the contents of the pages onto a word document so I can read the text. I prefer the old binder in my hand and flipping through the pages.

  2. I like the iAge reference it is very true to the topic. But you are very right when you talk about paperback books being around in the next few generations. If they eliminate paperback books what would happen to all the library buildings? I personally need to have a real book in my hands (I had a Nook and my dog chewed the corners and scratched the screen apart....not good).
